Total Tranmere brings you the first of this seasons fanfiles, with Huddersfield fan Michael Loughrey.
Introductions
What is your Name and how old are you?
Michael Loughrey, 16
How long have you supported your team and who/what made you support them?
I've supported the Town for most of my life although there was a few years were I tried to blag that I was a Celtic fan. With my Granddad being a kid during Town's heyday he became a glory hunter basically and it's been passed on since then.
Your Club
Is your Manager popular with the supporters and why?
Having taken an ordinary mid-table side to very strong promotion contenders, Lee Clarke is definitely one of our more popular managers of recent times! I can't see him reaching the same popularity levels as Neil Warnock and Peter Jackson though.
Who is your all-time Club legend and why?
Without a doubt it has to be Andy Booth! His passion for the club was second to none and how a man with no knees could score that many goals is amazing.
What is your favourite ever game and why?
Stockport away last season probably tops it. 6 - 0 win away from home, two stands sold out (more fans than they did apparently) and the added bonus of a pitch invasion. Great atmosphere, great match. Great day out all round.
What is your least favourite ever game and why?
A 3 - 0 loss to Port Vale a few years ago. I'd stupidly chosen against wearing a jacket and it was the coldest match I remember going to. I haven't got a clue how I didn't lose a few fingers or toes that day.
What one thing would you change at your Club given the power to do so?
Move the away fans to another part of the ground and give the current away end to the home fans. It seems a waste giving that whole stand behind the goal to the 100 or so away fans that turn up most weeks.
Who is your Team's Man to Watch this Season?
I'm sure Rhodesy will have another goal-filled season but after Joey Gudjonsson scored his unbelievable 20-yard volley against Blackburn in the pre-season match I can see him as the kind of player who'll achieve cult status around Huddersfield this season.
Is there a young player who will make the Club big money in the near future?
We've currently got a number of players who I'm sure will one day move onto bigger and better things but of all of them the stand out must be Alex Smithies. Already been much interest from nearly every Premier League side.
League One
Which Team do you most look forward to playing against and why?
Obviously Leeds is the big one for Town fans, nothing better than a local derby. But this season I suppose it has to be Sheff Wed and Southampton. I'd love to get one over on those arrogant southerners.
Which Team do you least look forward to playing against and why?
This time round there isn't really anyone I'm too worried about playing. I don't feel there's a single team we haven't got the ability to beat. In all honestly you lot are my biggest concern as you've managed to become a bit of a bogey team for us in recent times.
Favourite and Worst League One Ground visited?
Southampton is probably my favourite being the largest I've been to even if they did thrash us 5 - 0 the one time I've been there. Although it's the newest ground I've visited, Milton Keynes has the worst ground. The ground feels like a giant plastic model which I suppose is suitable considering it houses a plastic club...
Have you been to Prenton Park and what are your views?
Being from Liverpool, Tranmere away is practically a home game for me so it's probably the ground I've visited most outside of the Galpharm. I'm not a massive fan of the Johnny King stand though. Always a bunch of 10 year olds trying in the closest corner to the Cowshed trying to give it all that whilst they're hiding behind rows of police, and would it be too much to ask for them to put a net on top of it to cut down the number of times the ball gets lost over it?
What do you think of Tranmere as a Football Club?
Again, being from Liverpool I feel a lot closer to the club than most others so I always keep an eye out to see how they're doing and generally hope the club does alright. I was genuinely happy when you managed to dig yourselves out of relegation last season.
General Info
What has been your funniest moment watching football?
When I was about 5 I was sat right behind the goal with my sister and dad watching the Town against Crystal Palace. Midway through the match Marcus Stewart hit a thunderous volley over the crossbar an straight into my sisters face. Sounds painful now, but to a 5 year old kid it's the funniest thing you could ever see. Needless to say, she hasn't been to a match since.
Rovers fans were sad to see Antony Kay leave Prenton Park last summer. Were there high expectations of him on arrival at the Galpharm and did he live up to those expectations?
Having watched him take us apart in our defeat at Prenton Park the season before I think we were all hoping he'd do the same for us against you. However he seemed a different player in a Town shirt constantly hoofing the ball anywhere possible at every available chance. I wouldn't be surprised if he struggled to get off the bench this season.
The Match Vs Tranmere
Do you have any match day routines and/or superstitions?
No superstitions, just meeting the lads in The Sportsman before the match and then jogging the 20 minute walk to the ground at about ten to three to just about make kick-off.
Your Prediction for the Game Vs Tranmere?
I'd love to say a comfortable 3 - 0 win for the Town, but i'd be more than happy with a repeat of this fixture last season even if it does mean only taking a point from the match.
