Tranmere manager Les Parry gives his post-match reaction after Saturdays 3-1 win at home to relegation rivals Exeter City. The victory leaves Rovers just two points from safety with a game in hand over the other relegation rivals.
Manager Les Parry gave his thoughts after Saturday's important victory over relegation rivals Exeter City. Rovers won the game 3-1 with goals from Craig Curran, Joss Labadie and Gareth Edds, whilst Exeter played the majority of the game with ten men.
Three points leaves Tranmere two points from safety, behind Exeter, with a game in hand at Brentford on Tuesday where a win will take Tranmere out of the relegation zone, ahead of Exeter and level on points with Gillingham
Speaking to TranmerePlayer, Les said... "We made enough chances to win a couple of games. When they came back I thought it was one of those games when you dominate and then lose something at the end, so it was a relief to get the third goal.
"We said to the lads that we'd let ourselves down in the last game, we'd let our family down and we'd let our fans down, and that we had to go out from the first minute and show them what a good side we are.
"I was made up for Craig, that was the happiest moment of the match because he does put it in for us and he doesn't get that many chances because of the way we play. So to see him scoring was fantastic.
"I thought Joss was our best player in the first half, he did really well. He started to tire in the second half, as did Bas who looked like his old self in the first half.
"Everybody gave 110% today.
Speaking about the two upcoming away games, Les said:
"It's going to be massively important at Brentford. We've got two
difficult away games coming up and we need to rest over the next couple
of days and then give that same level of energy at Brentford. If we do
we'll get something from the game."

Rovers go into the encounter with mid-table Walsall missing striker Terry Gornell, who is starting a three-match ban, together with the creative talents of Andy Robinson and Paul McLaren, who complete three and two match suspensions respectively this weekend.
Manager Les Parry admits all three would probably have featured in his starting line-up had they been available.
A groin injury that has prevented front man Craig Curran from training for most of this week is also threatening to cut into the selection options.
