Rovers Sign Liverpool Keeper on Loan

Tranmere have today completed the emergency loan signing of Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi for a seven day period due to injuries to Luke Daniels and Joe Collister ahead of three vitally important games in the next eight days.........
Tranmere Rovers have today completed the signing of Liverpool reserve team goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on an emergency seven day loan deal.
The 19-year old joins Rovers from their Merseyside neighbours due to injuries to 'keepers Luke Daniels and Joe Collister, who are struggling with knocks, and due to the position in question being the goalkeeper spot, the Football League have given Tranmere permission to complete the signing.
Gulacsi, who is a Hungarian U-21 international, and played under the U-20 World Cup in Egypt last year, has been in exceptional form for the Liverpool reserve team this season, after signing for the club in August 2008.
The youngster is the second goalkeeper to join Tranmere from Liverpool on loan this season, following David Martin's brief switch across the Mersey, and goes straight into Rovers' team to face Exeter at Prenton Park tomorrow.

This has come out of the blue as far as I'm concerned. Did anyone have an inkling that the other two were injured?

Sounds a good keeper but dissapointing to lose luke for such a key game (also a shame that after such a good season he made a real clanger to finish the last game off)

Didn't have a clue! Very surprised but well done Les for going out there and getting a new lad in. I remember him at Hereford last year
Both have been struggling the last few weeks.
Seen the lad in question. Believe he'll be on the bench as Luke will probably start.

If he can kick it straight and get it past the half way line he's passed Luke already. Daniels is a great shot stopper but piles on the pressure with his appalling kicking.
in fairness to luke our pitch hardly helps keepers with back passes. If he's half the shot stopper luke is we've done well.

He was hardly tested. At times his kicking was better than Daniels, at others it was worse.

His kicking was the worst I've ever seen from a Professional Footballer.
Was fortunate that a couple of the bad uns came when we were 2-0 up if we needed a goal late on his whacking the ball out with no one within 30 yards wouldnt of gone down well.
Have you seen Daniels this season?

i thought they were good balls aswell because exeter back four didnt see them coming

didnt think daniels was that bad - his kicks are usually near-ish someone.
Galusci was okay when he tried to kick straight but his angled ones presumably looking for curran were laughable all of them.
Lol reina Style bullets to curran....
Maybe if curran was sat in the jk stand!
Not tested; tho I felt more secure than with daniels maybe that was helped by ash being centre half tho.

He kicked the ball straight out three or four times. He was not tested at all and let one in ?. Daniels has been a life saver for us all season making great stops..........

Daniells has also made more rash decisions than zoumana!
He didn't pass to their team like Luke did far to often against wycombe and yes he conceeded but that was our terrible defending as usual nothing him or even Luke could have been expected to do there.
I am grateful for Lukes contributions this season don't get me wrong but he's far from perfect and id look to bring someone else in next season... we had Joe harte only a few years ago lol

I know but he was no good when he came as well. It takes a keeper much longer to find his all round game. I would like to see a keeper that's in his late 20's to early 30's. And the young ones for a back up for next season............

for 19 i thought the goali did really well coming into a team like ours, he had a couple of bad kicks but a lot of the time send good balls upto curran/bain when he came on.
How you can say 'he let a goal in' as a critisicm is laughable.
Thought looked good enough but like luke and be hard pushed to find a better shot stopper in our league.

I'm not people's comments was that he was better than Luke. He played one game and did not have much to do. It's funny how Luke made a clanger the other night and now he not good when he been stopping us getting batterd week in week out with great saves...............

I'd still prefer Daniels.
By far one of, if not the best shot-stopped in the league I'd say and he'll probably play in the Premiership next year with WBA. Not first choice though.

agree luke is great but think people are very harsh on this lad on the one game.
No fair play just pointed out that he kicked a few balls out. I can't say how good he is till we see him under pressure and see him make some saves. But looks like we will be seeing him alot more by what LES said on the radio..................

lol what are we -30 odd goal difference and you think we have one of the best keepers in the league mikey! ur crazy!
i agree pete that we should be bringing in older loanee's. Across the pitch too not just in goal. if we had brought some more experience in earlier in season instead of kids like gordon etc i think we may be safer now (not safe lol but safer)

Yeh and it could easily be -60 without a shotstopper like him.
I know it sounds silly but remember games such as Leeds away etc.?
The lack of midfield for the majority of the season has been a key factor for me this season. They don't supply the strikers and they never helped the defence earlier the season.

agree leeds away could/should have been 10-0! Luke is a good keeper and has improved over the season actually think he looked better than joe hart when we had him.
he as have a number of players has definately improved as season went on. (how hard was that tho?)
but then he has lapses like wycombe and shows inexperince too often, iv never known a keeper to be so unlucky that whenever he makes a mistake we seem to get punished everytime.
we have youth as said elsewhere, play our youth or bring in experience i say.

joe hart was a brilliant keeper hell of alot better than ward who a think we had that season some of the saves he made a think he conceded 1 qoal in first 3 games which was delroy facey's shot which the wind took
