The newest Lincoln City DVD, this time the match against Grimsby Town is the last in a long line of crap Lincoln DVDs. Other than the obvious desire to watch the 5-0 win over the Mariners again, there is not a lot of offer for a DVD that is the latest in a long line of second rate crap.

Lincoln City DVDs are never really something worthy shouting about and the new DVD, the game against Grimsby from 2 weeks ago continues the Imps’ proud reputation of producing a half arsed effort and then charging us stupid amounts to watch it.

 

Taking out the obvious 5-0 win over local rivals, it is otherwise a very poor production and the commentary on the DVD really does take the piss. The commentator, James Lazenby sounds more like an uninterested bystander, he hardly speaks and when he does, he’s often just repeating what the Radio Lincolnshire commentators (who you can also hear) next to him are saying. Infact, on several occasions, it’s obvious that Lazenby forgets he’s supposed to be commentating on a match and just starts talking to his mates.

 

It’s not the first time that the Imps have produced a DVD that was worth £5 for nearly treble that amount. After last season’s average efforts at some home and away matches, the Imps started doing bi-monthly reviews of the season that were produced on the disks that you could buy in multi-packs from your local HMV. Although these DVDs did show a lot of action from each game, the £20 price tag for each was a complete joke and a product that is as poor as the Grimsby DVD is, the price should certainly be less than the £12.99.

 

If you’re desperate to relive what will probably turn out to be the best game of the season, then fair enough but if you’re debating whether or not to better, I would serious recommend that you save you £12.99 and just buy the next bi-monthly DVD because that shows pretty much exactly what you see here.
