The first round draw of this year's LDV Vans Trophy has handed the Imps an extremely hard tie at Tranmere Rovers. It was one of the final northern games to be drawn live on Soccer Am. The side from Merseyside are one of the strongest teams in League One at the moment so it will be a real test.

The clubs haven't met each other since 1989 when City secured 3 points with a 2-1 win at Sincil Bank. However, the Imps have only won 4 of the 34 matches played at Prenton Park.
