The transfer of Jack Hobbs could potentially net the Imps a massive £600,000 from the current European Champions. The deal is set to be completed in the next 48 hours and the deal is worth more than £500,000 and guarantee's City a friendly against the Premiership giants next summer.

Liverpool have sent in an official offer to the Imps and offered the player, what is believed to be a VERY lucrative contract for a 16 year old. The deal includes what is believed to be a 25% sell on clause if Liverpool ever decide to sell the youngster. The part of the deal that would excite a lot of Lincoln fans, other than the money, is the guarantee of a friendly game at Sincil Bank between the two clubs next summer.

Hobbs played in two friendly matches last week and Rafael Benitez was said to be extremely impressed with the youngster and almost immediatly submitted the bid.

However, Arsenal are set to join in the race again after initially refusing to agree to the sell-on-clause. The highbury club originally offered £100,000 increasing to £150,000 dependant on appearances but now will have to do a lot better if they're serious about landing Hobbs.
