Scott Kerr and the Imps have both critised Scarborough chairman Martin Reynolds for trying to seek compensation. Reynolds has demanded compensation from City for signing Scott Kerr, however, the FA has put a holt to those plans after it was revealed Kerr was without a team when City signed him.
City signed Kerr from a free transfer last week and almost immediatly, Martin Reynolds demanded compensation from Lincoln City. However, Reynolds didn't take into account that when Kerr joined City, he officially had no club because he wasn't offered a new contract in time and therefore, City owe nothing to Scarborough. Due to being under 24, Scarborough would have been due compensation if the contract hadn't been offered too late.
Reynolds is all set to set an official complaint to the FA about the situation despite that the FA sent letters to all 3 parties that the transfer wasn't classified as a transfer where compensation was eligable for. I suppose that'll teach him to read the rules.
