Boston delight brings temporary pleasentness

Boston United have actually managed to please Lincoln fans by confirming keeper Nathan Abbey is stay at York Street. Many Sunday papers claimed the keeper had been released by the Pilgrims and many Imps fans start irrationally panicing, thinking that Imps keeper, Alan Marriott was moving to Boston.

Marriott is still to agree a new contract with the Imps but it is believed he will have made a decision by the weekend. When Imps fans saw the story in the Sunday papers that Boston United goalkeeper, Nathan Abbey had been released, many started fearing that the current Imps custodian was set to join Ben Futcher in making the move from Sincil Bank to York Street.

However, this proved irrational (like most Imps fans have tended to be recently) as Boston United director, Jim Rodwell told the Pilgrim's Official Site that the reports of Abbey's release were far from the truth.

“We don’t know what the source of this story was, but we can assure all Pilgrims fans that Nathan is under contract to Boston United until June 30, 2006. We are looking forward to seeing Nathan again when the players report back for pre-season training and we hope that he will once again demonstrate that he’s one of the best goalkeepers in League Two when the action kicks off on August 6.”
