McAuley leaving already?

Defender Gareth McAuley could be set to leave just months after joining the Imps. Premiership sides Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers are believed to be interested in making a bid for the defender that joined the Imps 2 months ago. Defender Gareth McAuley joined from Irish side Coleraine for a fee believed to be in the region of £17,000.

Birmingham and Blackburn have both voiced an interest. Steve Bruce, the Birmingham manager seems very keen to sgn the defender after an impressive showing in the 3-1 defeat at the Premiership club in the Second Round of the Carling Cup.

It would be a great financial gain for the Imps if he was sold to either side but also a great playing loss from what the Imps fans have seen so far.

Since his arrival, McAuley has taken the place of both Simon Weaver and Jamie McCombe in the defensive trio with Morgan and Futcher.
