Keith Alexander has been linked with a move to Grimsby Town to replace sacked Paul Groves who has been rumoured with a move to Sincil Bank. Unfortunatly for the Codheads, Keith is about to sign a new contract with the Imps.
Grimsby infact are regarded by many as a team on the slide whilst it's the reverse case for the Imps. Grimsby are on the brink of a 2nd relegation on a row whilst the Imps form over the season so far would indicated the Imps are lined up for a 2nd playoff in a row.
To back this up, all you have to do is look at the facts.
They have conceeded 26 goals in the last 9 games whilst the Imps have conceeded 27 all season long.
Average attendance for Grimsby is 4587 whilst the Imps, despite being a lower division team have an average of 4598.
The Imps won more games in 2003 alone than Grimsby have won since the beginning of the 2002/3 season began.
This whole situation looks very similar to last season when Keith was linked with a move to Northampton which nobody saw the point to as Northampton were looking as though they were going down (and did) whilst the Imps were on course for going up.
Keith Alexander has however revealed he is about to sign the contract offered to him.
