Imps face Pirates
The Pirates

The pirates are coming to town. Bristol Rovers are the next team to visit Sincil Bank. A big crowd is expected at Sincil Bank to both cheer on the team and donate money for Keith Alexander thanks to an idea from City fan, Matt Harris.
A specially arranged bucket collection for Keith Alexander will take place on Saturday during the warm up the game. The idea came from a suprising source, Matthew Harris. Hopefully this idea will prove a very popular one and a lot of money will be collect. Myself and Matthew are both taking part and plan to be in the away end.
TEAM NEWS FOR THE IMPS
Mark Bailey is close to recovering from his hernia injury as is Matt Carbon. Both defenders however are still unlikely to feature in this vital Division 3 game. Last Saturday, the draw at Darlington saw City lose their 2 point advantage over the teams above them but remain in the final playoff position.
City are now just one game away from equalling an impressive record from last season where the Imps only lost 1 in 17 games. However, last season, all those games were in the league, this season, a lot of those games have come in the cup. Not that it makes the achievement any less impressive and there are very few teams in the whole country who can boast better recent form than the Imps, even league leaders Hull can't as their season appears to be hitting a hill after losing 3 games in a row, all by 3-1.
Bristol Rovers
Bristol started the season like a thunderbolt and were a suprise contender for the playoffs. However, a run of only 2 wins in their last 13 games (including cups) has seem them plummet down the table and are even starting to get close to the dreaded drop zone.
There most recent games saw them lose at home Bury and Cambridge at home. Their away form has only seen them win 3 games on the road this season, the most recent being a 4-0 demolition at Darlington. That was their first away win in nearly 2 months. The other 2 came at Carlisle (no suprise there) and Scunny.
THE CHANCES OF AN IMPS WIN
The Gary Simpson management has resulted in only 1 point from 4 games this season (including the 3 games at the beginning of the season when Keith was banned) and no goals scored in that time. So to say I am not confident would be an understatement. I do not believe that Bristol Rovers will earn a win but a draw will be a more than likely result.
