Former Imp scores winner against Sheffield Wednesday

Ex-Imp Lee Frecklington continued his fine start to the season with a winning goal against Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup for Rotherham.

Pringle had given Rotherham the lead before a McGabe equaliser 13 minutes later. Frecklington popped up just before half time to record a memorable winner for the Millers.

Frecklington has been in fine form, with that goal being his fourth in his last three games for the Millers, including a goal in their last day win over Aldershot that secured their promotion.

The midfielder came through the Lincoln youth system and he was consistently rated as one of the best midfielders in the lower leagues, being linked with Nottingham Forest, Norwich City and Leeds United before leaving in 2008/9 for Peterborough United. He struggled to keep a place in their first team and left on loan to Rotherham last season, eventually making the move permanent.

Frecklington wasn't the only former Imp to score on Tuesday night though as Craig Westcarr hit the net for Walsall at Port Vale,
