Reaction to Danny Hone's 2010/11

Daniel Hone had a strange season, from effectively being told he wasn't needed and being loaned to Darlington, to then becoming a first team regular against Sincil Bank. He was one of the few who also appeared to care deeply about the club.

Danny Hone is the club's second longest serving regular first teamer. Having come into the first team from no-where to a man who was once being heavily scouted by Wolverhampton Wanderers. I was exceedingly disappointed that he was sent out on loan, however, if he does stay he gained vital experience at Lincoln's new level with Darlington.

I was quite pleased when Hone returned from loan and although he seemed to be playing well individually, the simple facts show that the defence conceded considerably more goals with him in the side, conceding almost two goals a game when Hone was in the side.

How much that had to do with Hone is very much up for debate with in terms of an average of goals conceded in games played, Hone is statistically speaking the weak link. The other regular defenders may not have a shining light all over them, but none of them come anywhere near the 2 goals a game average.

I think Hone's experience in the non-league in 2010/11 could prove vital over the next season if he gets a new deal, whether he'll get one is another matter.

I really really really hope he does get the contract! Everyone had a bad season last year, and at the end of the day he's still relatively young.

As said, he really does seem to care about the club having been here for a fairly long time.

His experience at Darlo in the BSP could prove vital, especially as there were frequent reports of how well, and how much of a key player Hone was in the Darlington starting 11.

I quite like Hone, and Darlo fans seemed to like him when he was on loan there. If he got a new deal i would be pretty pleased, but if he didnt i wouldnt be a massive loss i dont think.
