Reaction to Joe Anderson's 2010/11

Joe Anderson had a bit of a culture shock over the following seasons by being dumped out the first team after Chris Sutton left and finding himself being the subject of loan offers from Blue Square Premier clubs

Joe Anderson was a defender I used to like. When he first came I thought he was good, although in a Cian Hughton kind of a way, he was far better going forward than he was at defending. Ultimately if you're a defender, you need to be better than Joe.

I felt sorry for him earlier in his Lincoln career, he had become a scapegoat amongst a lot of fans, that despite not a lot of goals against us being his fault. It got to the point where I comically created a Facebook group called I Blame Joe Anderson, blaming him for stuff such as stuff from my office going missing, or a DVD from Blockbuster being too scratched to play, such was the extent of the stupidness of things he was getting blamed for in matches.

To be fair he was  never that good as a footballer, he did improve a bit towards the end of the season, conveniently in time for contract renewals, but ultimately he wasn't the best left back at the club and I'd be surprised if he's here next season.....especially as he made it clear earlier this season he had no interest in playing in the non-league.

I thought he was alright when he first joined too, just seems like a massive lack of confidence

Nowhere near mentally or physically strong enough for league football. Sutton simply thought that he must be good because he had a Premier League background. The kid had never played a meaningful match before joining us and Sutton clearly did no homework whatsoever on the mental side of his game. A very very poor player in my book and an absolute cert to be on his bike. I'll eat my hat if he ever plays league football again, in fact I'd go as far to say that he will wimp out of the game altogether by the time he's 25.
