Clucas is the only player released

By Nathan Jackson
May 10 2010

The club have announced the list of players that they want to keep beyond this season and the only out of contract player that they have confirmed will leave the club is Sam Clucas. The midfielder played just once for City and that came in the JP Trophy.

Everyone who was out of contract has been offered a new year, other than Clucas. The midfielder was signed by Peter Jackson, but even Jackson only played him once. His release comes as no surprise really.

What does come as a surprise is that everyone else has. In what was expected to be a major overhaul, only Michael Gordon, Paul Connor and Clucas will be guaranteed to be elsewhere next season.

Richard Butcher has joined Shane Clarke, Chris Fagan and John-Lewis on the transfer list.

If you take away the players that are transfer listed/ available for loan, that leaves us with 13 players at the moment (including rob burch, so more like 12!)

It looks like he'd made his mind up and released/listed players in advance of the retained list being announced. Keltie is the only surprise for me.
