Chris Sutton's contacts are certainly paying off as it has been confirmed that Celtic will visit Sincil Bank in the pre-season. With Sutton having previously played for Celtic, it was widely anticipated that a friendly against his former side was going to happen, and it's finally been confirmed.
With a friendly against Norwich City already being confirmed, and several teams from the Premiership believed to be on their way, the confirmation of a pre-season game against Celtic could arguably be considered the biggest friendly City have had for some time. City have faced an understrength Arsenal side, as well as teams from Aston Villa and Manchester City in recent years, but none of them have the same standing as Celtic.
Celtic have promised a full strength team for the fixture. It will take place Saturday July 24th.
For all Celtic fans interested in attending the fixture, we have a section of this website dedicated to showing you the views from each stand, so feel free to have a browse at the view from the away end (Blocks 1-3 of the CO-OP Stand) HERE
I do like you haven't fallen into the trap of using the word friendly there. The words "Hull City" and "friendly" should never been mentioned in the same sentence.
