Davide Gonna, Somma offered new Leeds deal.

The speculation about Davide Somma's future has taken a new twist with the news on Leeds' site that they have taken up the option of an additional year on his contract. The only semblence of hope that the Imps have left is that Somma has to agree to the contract.

Somma joined in February and set about not only scoring goals, but scoring spectacular goals. His 8 goals so far have all been excellent finishes and he single handedly saved City from the drop. However, his form alerted Leeds to his potential and they have taken up their option of an additional year. However, the option must be agreed by both parties, something which has yet to be confirmed for definite on Somma's end.

Simon Gray told Leeds' official website "Dave has done really well at Lincoln. The main reason behind him going out on loan was to play games in a competitive environment. We've seen his qualities in training and the reserves, but he needed a loan move like this and his record down there speaks for itself."

This news comes on the same morning that City should "splash the cash" on Somma in a calculated gamble.

IF Leeds go up I doubt he will be in the first team....maybe a season long loan is too much to hope for....definitely brighted up our season and quite possibly kept us up.
