After one of the most pathetic and lazy performances I've ever seen in a City shirt, I've finally decided to vent my frustration on the bone-idle waster that is Lenell John-Lewis. It is amazing that he plays in the same team that contains Chris Herd, an energetic player who tries his hardest every game and is arguably the best player we have.
John-Lewis quite frankly isn't good enough for League football, hell, he was barely good enough for the Newark Alliance Sunday League when he was in that. How can such a bone-idle and horrendous player continue to feature for Lincoln City? It's not even as though he puts in a good performance on a semi-regular basis. I can't remember the last time he actually played well. I've always said that if a player players well then I'm happy enough to give him credit, but I'm sick and tired of watching Lenell John-Lewis being such a lazy, inept and incompetent football player, that it is just ridiculous. If I was to perform that badly on a consistent basis at my job, then I'd be sacked, no question about it.
I'm not sure what makes him such a crap, and that's being nice, player. If he was half as concerned about playing football than he is building himself to look like a brick-shithouse, then maybe he would actually be a half decent player, but alas, he's just shite. How can a supposed professional footballer consistently I've the ball away , and have as much care as accuracy with his first touch as a golfer would be hitting a golf-ball with a packet of Chewits.
Quite frankly, the sooner John-Lewis gets the hell out of this football club, the better. I find it no coincidence that we suddenly looked dangerous as soon as he went off, with Uwezu look ten times the player that Lenny is on his best days.
If John-Lewis is good enough for League football then.....erm.....you know what, I can't actually think of a good enough simile to describe just how inappropriate John-Lewis is for League football.
On the other hand, Chris Herd continues to impress me and he was easily my man of the match for the game against Bolton. Not afraid to shoot and other than Kerr, easily the most passionate player on that pitch for City. He was one of the few making runs and distributing it well. I'll grant you that he played himself into trouble every now and then, but at least he did something with the ball, other than the pathetic John-Lewis.
If we can sign Herd then I would class him as a definite purchase. Passionate, skilful and most importantly, energetic, he is the type of player who will make the difference to our season.

My mate who there said Herd was terrific yet again and definitely man of the match for him.
He would be an awesome signing.
Too soon to judge the debutants. Too little time for them to have gained any real understanding. Anderson did look hesitant on the ball.
The lads who played can hold their heads up in spite of the score line. Harsh on criticise LJL against specifically against Premiership opposition.
Today cemented in my mind that:
1) We will likely be safe this season.
2) Steff is right to back Sutton's rebuilding with the undisclosed fees to sign Watts & the young LB and, I hope more.
3) More experience on the pitch will ultimately be needed to get out of L2 the right way. Discreet use of some of any incoming money for Burch & Loach may be key to this.
4) I like the fact that we are trying to play football....great to chant hoolay, hoolay as put together a dozen passes before Herd's shot with 10 of so mins to go....
So some positives from the visit to the Reebock today, in spite of not getting in the ground until 25 past 3 having been queueing at the turnstile at twenty to!

He is the biggest example of the weight the is carrying this club down.
Sutton does at least appear to want to bring in players who can do something with their feet.
Watts, Herd, Gilmore...they all bode well for the future.
BUT
LJL = well built black lad,with a bit of pace and is reasonaby strong. That appears to open doors, and a couple of half-decent showings on trial often keeps them open.
There are many footballers making a living by being just this, and having little or no actual ability. Lenny is just another one of them.
As Nathan said at the start of the piece he has flattered to decive for a long time, cant remember the last time he scored?

Also, when deciding whether or not to keep a player, a lot of clubs will look at natural physical attributes favourably, sometimes over natural ability. To be fair to Lenny is a big strong lad with a bit of pace about him (for league 2), just a shame its actual ability on the ball that lets him down. Not good enough for Football League, but could probably ply his trade quite well in non-league.
