Darlington confident of Monday's game going ahead

Darlington have stated on their official website that they are confident that their game against the Imps, made even more likely by the fact they have closed on their stands for saftey reasons. The game is set to be a massive chance for the Imps to get a much needed victory.

City are coming up on three months without having won a game, failure to with against Chesterfield, Darlington or Accrington will guarantee City's run goes over the three month period, something that even Schofield and Jackson didn't manage between them between August and November in 2007.

The Imps will fancy their chances of a victory at a side who have only won two League games all season, that despite Darlo getting a win over City in the JP Trophy.

With heavy snow in recent weeks, many games have been called off, so much so that only two League Two games were played last weekend. However, Darlington have stated on their site that the pitch is now almost free of snow and a cover will be placed over the pitch once it has finally been cleared. However, Darlington have closed their home end behind the goal due to safety matters, giving the game even more of a chance of being played.

I think we all know the answer to that one. I think the only time we've reasonably filled it was the 2003/4 season when we took about 800, and that was probably because it was the first away game after Keith's accident and the first visit we'd made to that stadium.

I see Lincoln are saying the same about the boxing day game. If it was to be held here in skeggy don't think there would be a chance, but hoping it's better in Lincoln.
