Former Imps man sacked by Kettering

John Deehan has surprisingly been sacked by Kettering Town almost immediately after the Poppies went out 5-1 to Leeds United in the FA Cup on Tuesday evening. The news came as a shock to most in the football world, let alone Lee Harper, who has stated he is thinking about leaving his role.

Deehan was Director of Football at Sincil Bank between June 2006 and October 2007. Although John Schofield was credited as the Head Coach/Manager, many credit Deehan with the excellent football that the Imps produced during the first half of the 2006/7, but he was sacked along with Schofield after a 4-0 defeat at MK Dons.

Having being taken to Kettering by his Lee Harper, the two former Northampton men looked like a decent partnership and with Harper being in goal for the Leeds game, Deehan took charge on the bench. After Leeds dominated the first half, they opened the scoring before a spirited second half display saw Elding equalise for Kettering.

The first half of extra time was goalless, but a substitution at extra time's half time seems to have provoked all the controversy, with Lee Fowler coming on after alledgely refusing to train all week. Leeds subsequently scored four times in the remaining 15 minutes to seal a trip to Old Trafford.

Laddak took Deehan aside almost immediately and sacked him near enough there and then.

Ridculous decision.

I watched the game and bar some great fortune and poor finishing, and I am not exaggerating, Ledds could have been 8,9,10 up in normal time.

I agree, I lost count of how many times Leeds hit the woodwork. I don't Leeds by any stretch of the imagination, but they dominated at least 3/4 of the game.

Leeds had over 40 chances in the game.
Ladaak is a complete idiot and gets all he deserves.
