Sutton has brought in 11 players since coming to Sincil Bank and the trend shows that the more of his own players that play, the longer we go without a win. It all started so differently when only one of his players played in the best performance so far, and last night's game at Port Vale saw the first time that his players outnumbered those who were already at the club. There is this belief that when Sutton gets to January then things will be ok and he will bring in quality, but looking at the results in the League so far, the more of his players that play in games, the less effective they are.

It all started against Aldershot and at that point Sutton only had one player taking part that he had signed for the club, Adam Watts. A total of 12 players took part in the match that has been deemed by many fans as Sutton's best League game. In that game, he used ten of Jackson's players and one of Simon Clark's (Sergio Torres)

Skip forward a week and 15 players are used, by this point Sutton has brought Pulis to the club. The Imps don't play well but still manage to win. 7 days later saw a third Sutton player introduced to the pack, this time is was Pearce.

A big change around in players came in a 0-0 draw with Torquay, one of the worst performances at Sincil Bank for a long time. As well as Watts, Pearce and Pulis all playing, Lichaj, Baker, Khano Smith were all signed by Sutton and put straight into the starting line-up.

15 players were used at Morecambe, Watts, Lichaj, Pulis and Smith made another start, whereas Torres had returned on loan, Baker probably would have played but was away on international duty.

5 Sutton players were in the squad to face Cheltenham, including new signing Michael Gordon. It was another generally poor performance that would have seen 6 Sutton players play had it not been for Lichaj's sending off against Morecambe.

Another 0-0 draw, this time with Grimsby, saw five Sutton players take part, none of whom were particularly impressive. Last week's game at Rotherham saw five of Sutton's signings take the field and last night's game because the first time Sutton's players outnumbered Jackson's players, with a whopping eight of the fifteen playing were signed by Sutton, three of them making their League debut, Herd, Facey and Gilmour.

So in other words, the more players that Sutton has introduced of his own, the further we get away from our last League win. He has signed 11 players since coming to Sincil Bank and nine of those have yet to play in a League victory, still looking forward to the supposed guaranteed influx of quality in January?
