Lincoln City's February was relatively quiet with a lot of games postponed due to heavy snow. Meanwhile, Lincoln City said goodbye to one of the most exciting youngsters in recent times at Sincil Bank, whereas another almost left as well. February started with the news that games against Macclesfield and Chesterfield had both been postponed, but the biggest news of February came on the 6^th when Lee Frecklington joined Peterborough United on loan with a view to a permanent move. Peterborough had been after him for some time and the long drawn out saga finally seemed to be coming to an end.

N'Guessan had also almost left the Imps, City rejecting two bids from MK Dons and would win the Powerade Player of the Month for January. This news came just hours before the rearranged game at Morecambe. It was a bitterly cold night at Christie Park and the hosts took the lead early on through Bentley. Morecambe dominated the whole goal before Paul Green popped up late on with a left footed shot from just outside of the area.

The adverse weather conditions also caused the postponement of the home game against Darlington. The decision caused much controversy as it turns out most of the pitch was arguably playable, but Gavin Ward still postponed the game.

Only the second game of the month took place on Friday 20^th. In a pretty poor game at Vale Park, N'Guessan gave City the lead before John-Lewis had a second disallowed. The Imps comfortably held on and recorded a well earnt win, expending their unbeaten run during 2009 so far.

A relatively quiet month ended with a home defeat against Rotherham.
