Lincoln City's game at Northwich Victoria in the second round of the FA Cup has been confirmed as one of the games shown by ITV. City will be part of a double header that will also see Leeds United yet again getting a game shown live, this time away at our old "friends" Kettering.
It was confirmed at the end of an FA Cup highlights show on Sunday evening that City's game at Northwich will be shown on ITV in three weeks time. It will be the first live City game to be shown since a 4-0 defeat at MK Dons in October 2007, and also exactly ten seasons after the Imps were on Sky for a second round game in the FA Cup.
The Imps have a below average record on TV in recent years, since the turn of the century, City have been live on TV fourteen times, winning just 3.
Our complete TV Record since 2000.
2001/2 : Rushden 0 Lincoln 0
2002/3 : Bournemouth 5 Lincoln 2 (Playoff Final)
2004/5 : Lincoln 2 Scunthorpe 0, Lincoln 1 Macclesfield 0 (Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg), Macclesfield 1 Lincoln 1 (Playoff Semi Final 2nd Leg), Lincoln 0 Southend United 2 (Playoff Final)
2005/6 : Lincoln 0 Grimsby 1 (Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg), Grimsby 2 Lincoln 1 (Playoff Semi Final 2nd Leg)
2006/7 : MK Dons 2 Lincoln 2, Walsall 1 Lincoln 2, Lincoln 2 Swindon 3, Bristol Rovers 2 Lincoln 1 (Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg), Lincoln 3 Bristol Rovers 5 (Semi Final 2nd Leg)
2007/8 : MK Dons 4 Lincoln 0
The other game to be shown live on ITV will be Leeds' game at Kettering. Since being relegated to League One in 2007, nearly all of Leeds' cup games have been shown live on TV. However, I'm sure a lot of city fans will be behind Leeds after the incidents between City and Kettering last season.
We'll update this article with show times once we learn them.
