After eight years without drawing a non-league side, City have now drawn three in a row after being drawn for an away tie against Northwich Victoria. The Imps will fancy their chances of their first appearances in the third round since 1999/2000, but will face a very tricky Northwich side which have decent cup pedigree themselves.

The Imps and Northwich share a lot of links this century, including both being managed by Keith Alexander, as well as former Imps Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Adie Mike having also pulled on the shirt of Northwich.

After beating Conference North side Telford, City will now have to face their divisional counterparts Northwich. Given City's progression against a team from that level, the Imps will certainly fancy their chances against a side who've been in the competition since the 2nd Qualifying Round.

The tie could have a good chance of TV coverage given that there's a chance of an upset, that's if the TV stations can actually see that there are games that don't involve Leeds that are worthy of TV. Other games that catch the eye are the potential local derby of Staines vs Millwall, or Bath City's reward for beating Grimsby, I'll repeat that again, BEATING GRIMSBY, is a home tie against either Forest Green Rovers or Mansfield Town.

Tough game but there is no reason why we can't win. Charlton made the mistake of thinking they just had to turn up. Being closure to Northwhich in League status I am hoping we will not make the same mistake.
