Reaction to the Bury defeat

Shock! Horror! City put in a rubbish performance. Simon Clark's last realistic chance to be named as City manager came and went with another defeat and there were very few positives to take out of the game, infact there was only one. Before I start this reaction, I'm going to do a public service.

That's how to get to Altrincham's Moss Lane (courtesy of Multimap), information we'll need to know when the current bunch of players gets us relegated.

You know what's frustrating? Me and about 1,700 other fans put in up to £300odd each, paying to go to the matches, pay to go and watch the Imps on the road, buy merchandise such as programmes, shirts, etc, and are paid back by this bunch of complete and utter waste of spaces. You've got egotistical prats such as Rene Howe claiming to be brilliant but turning out to be a big headed, over-rated nothing of a player, you've got Scott "I can wave my arms around better than no-one but can't pass for shit" Kerr, and so many others that I can't even put my finger on it.

Infact, the only player that I think deserves praise is Rob Burch, the only player on that pitch that actually appears to care about more than getting his wages at the end of the month. I'm getting so incredibly sick of the players appearing on the back of the Echo saying that the fans deserve better, that they need to start playing as a team and a lot of other hot air. How about actually doing what you say for once, or are you all actually happy in the knowledge that since you came to the club, you haven't actually EARNT  single penny of the money you've been paid.

I could have picked any ten random fans today that would have gone out on that pitch and put in more effort than the wasters that started. Over the past few days I have taken part in several football matches with friends who use various message boards involved in Lincoln City and every single person put in so much effort that they were sweating profusely. There were blisters, blood, sweat and passion without a single player hiding, every man there for the rest of the team.....none of which you get from the majority of the City players.

Going back to the only positive I have from today's defeat, Rob Burch produced several fantastic saves and it would have easily been considerably more with a less capable goalkeeper. He is easily the player of the season so far (not much competition to that though). He's the only person I wouldn't rate as a 1 or 2 from today's game, hence the reason I'm not actually going to do player ratings, because half of them don't deserve the effort.

Sod Moss Lane - been there and lost in the Cup.

I'm personally looking forward to Forest Green away, so I can enjoy another weekend away in the idyllic Cotswolds. Bourton-on-the-Water or Lower Slaughter I can highly recommended with the latter being an apt place to ditch most of the current squad.
