Bury's Alan Knill has told his club's official website that he desperate to beat the Imps on Saturday afternoon. The Imps haven't beaten Bury since New Year's Day in 2005 and only winning once (in a League game) in their seven visits this century.

Going back into last season and Bury were chasing automatic promotion into the final day. Despite scoring a near last minute winner from the spot, they failed to go through and have yet to score a goal at Gigg Lane since. However, Lincoln City could prove to be excellent opposition to get your first home win of the season against given their current form, and the fact that other than a Matt Bloomer winning header in 2004, City have often been lucky to even get out of Gigg Lane with a point.

Alan Knill has told Bury's official website that despite City having no manager at the moment, the Imps will still be difficult opposition.

"We have a tough game with Lincoln, a very tough game, but it's at home. It's like every other game, if you're not at your best, you're going to get beat."

Bury took four points off of the Imps last season, winning 3-1 at Gigg Lane before a 1-1 draw in March, however, Knill conceded that last season's results mean nothing.

He continued "It makes no difference that we did well against them last season. That's gone now, it's a new season and we've both got different players. I want a home win, the players want a home win and I know the supporters want it. For the last year, we have got used to winning at Gigg Lane and we have to get back to that. This is where the majority of our supporters come to watch us so we have to put on that show for them."
