More names into the hat

More names are appearing each day in the battle to become Lincoln City's next manager. The two favourites so far are Gary Brabin and Simon Clark, but other names such as John Pemberton have confirmed that they have been interviewed,
Simon Clark will be the last man to be interviewed when he sits through the process on Friday. He is arguably the favourite at the moment due to many factors, the main one being he is the cheap option. So far this century, the Imps have had John Reames, Phil Stant, Alan Buckley, Keith Alexander, Gary Simpson, John Schofield, Grant Brown, Peter Jackson, Iffy Onuora and now Simon Clark managing the Imps (some on a caretaker basis), with only Buckley and Jackson not already being at the club.
Also, the board have strangely allocated Clark a budget to bring in players on loan, a strange decision given that if he brings in players but isn't appointed, it's taken funds that the eventual new manager could use to bring in his own players.
Arguably the favourite in terms of people external from the club is Gary Brabin. Brabin has already confirmed he is interested in the job, the club confirmed they were interested in him (including specifically naming him to the media). He had his interview recently and according to one my sources, both parties were impressed with what the other had to say.
Other names linked to the managerial vacancy include John Pemberton, a former coach at Nottingham Forest who has confirmed in the Echo today that he is interested in the job.
Although no names have been officially revealed other than those mentioned above, it is also believed that Steve Staunton and Colin Calderwood are two of the other managers who have been interviewed.
Either way it is unlikely a new manager will be appointed before midway through next week at the earliest. With Clark not having an interview until Friday, Imps fans still remain largely in the dark about a new manager.

He is still a favourable option as far as I am concerned but hearing Pemberton's praises being sung is impressive but is he a manager or another good coach like Schoey?
i would still go for Ronnie moore.

My problem with Brabin is he has not worked in the league before.Only half the conferance is decent,the likes of forest green and lewes are a world away from football league standard so getting cambridge to the playoff final when you are competing against poor sides should be par for the course.

Not so sure about that Ferret, I think its a very competitive league. In fact had Lincs dropped a couple of years ago Id doubt we'd have bounced straight back like '87/88.
