In our continuing look at managers out of work that could be tempted to apply for the position of manager, we look at Ronnie Moore, a manager proven at this level, and levels aboves. We also look at a manager with vast experience in non-League and another who applies for virtually every job going.  

Ronnie Moore is proven at not only this level, but also the level above and is arguably the odds-on favourite to be the next Lincoln City manager. Having won back-to-back promotions with Rotherham United on a budget that couldn't exactly be described as generous, he kept a relatively small club in the Championship for many years before eventually leaving. He has since gone on to manage Tranmere Rovers, only losing out on promotion due to a last day draw with Scunthorpe that sent the Iron into the Playoffs and inevitably, promotion.

With Ronnie being out of work, it is surprising that he has yet to find himself new employment as a manager, especially given the amount of managers without a club. The key with Ronnie is probably his ambition and this could lead him one of two ways. He could either think of Lincoln as his next project and do to us what he did to Rotherham, or think that he is now too good for League Two, especially as he would have to relocate over to the other side of the country.

A choice that has caused much debate amongst the Imps fans so far is former player, Gary Brabin. Brabin has only managed in the non-League but had success with Southport before moving to Cambridge United. He almost masterminded a monumental title comeback, only being denied by a final day draw with Altrincham, then getting his side to show character by entering the Playoffs and coming from 3-1 down to make the Final, a final that they then lost.

Brabin was linked with the managerial spot at Blackpool before they appointed Holloway and this could see him as a bit of a coup for the Imps if successful. The only debate comes from most City fans only seeing Cambridge in the Playoff Final, only seeing a bad performance from a side who were twice ninety minutes away from promotion.

The most unrealistic name put about so far is a name familiar with City fans from last season, Mark Cooper. The reason I say unrealistic is that it would involve getting permission from Kettering Town to speak to Cooper, and given the bitterness that was caused between the two clubs, mainly be Jackson and Ladak, that isn't likely to happen at all. Cooper is a good, young manager, but the fact that Ladak hates our club doesn't help anything.

Steve Thompson has been out of management for a while and is well known to Imps fans for various reasons. He is widely regarded as a good coach but a poor manager, simply to Jackson in that sense. We don't want a repeat of Jackson and that makes his appointment unlikely.

Finally in this little section is Carlton Palmer. He was complaining in the newspaper the other day that he wasn't even getting interviews these days, so you can guarantee he'll fancy his chances at Sincil Bank. No!

carlton palmer should probably put himself out there instead of sitting in baths with blokes putting bets on

out of those 5, i would love to see ronnie moore, and maybe brabin and cooper.
