Lincoln City's lack of creativity was evident as despite alledgely having four shots on target, the Imps didn't once look like scoring against an Accrington side who scored with their only realistic chance of goal. Another midtable battle looms. According to the official stats there were four Lincoln City shots on target, but the vast majority inside of the Fraser Eagle Stadium would have been hard pushed to remember any other than a tame Howe effort in added on time. It was a far performance from the one that City saw in Tuesday night's defeat to Barnsley, with City not looking even slightly dangerous.

The main talking point came before the game had even began when, despite being the best player in the opening two games, Stefan Oakes was dropped to the bench. It showed as throughout the game the Imps created little and showed us for what we are, a team with a half decent defence but weak virtually everywhere else.

The hosts were the dominant side early on and were unlucky not to take the lead when Edwards' goalbound effort was blocked. City themselves had a decent chance early on as Fagan picked up the ball about twenty yards out, but he failed to even get the shot on target as he dragged it well wide. Infact, the game was many played in the midfield with a distinct lack of quality between the two sides.

Howe and Hughton were both booked for questionable decisions before Butcher shot well wide of the target from 25 yards. That was pretty much the last action of an incident-less first half.

Howe and Butcher both wasted chances at the beginning of the second half and it wasn't long before the deadlock was broken with pretty much the first effort on target for either team. The ball was played in from a free kick and Darren Kempson arose at the back to plant a header beyond Burch. It was the first time that Accrington Stanley had ever taken the lead against City at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Now Lincoln were finally coming into it but still failing to create anything and Lenny John-Lewis, now looking like a brick out-house, came on following a long term injury, replaced Fagan whereas Hutchinson replaced the terrible Clarke. John-Lewis won a corner but it came to nothing before Howe fired wide.

Howe had City's last chance of the game as he effort was claimed, but it was only Accrington who claimed something as they beat the Imps for the first ever time under their current guise.

come on lincoln you are better that accrington becasue me and my freand love lincoln becasue the are lcfc lose accrington lincolnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
