Two ex-Imps scored their first goals for their new clubs in the first round of the Carling Cup. Lee Frecklington scored his first goal since moving several months ago, whereas Adrian Patulea scored within minutes of his debut, a near replica of what happened at the start of his time at Sincil Bank.
Both ex-Imps progressed with their new club. Adrian Patulea's Leyton Orient beating Lee Beevers' Colchester United, with the Romanian striker scoring within the first two minutes of his debut for Orient. The O's went on to win the game 2-1 with JJ Melligan also scoring.
Lee Frecklington's goal was the last in Peterborough's 4-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers, so it mattered little but it was a decent finish as he hit it in left footed from the edge of the area.
There weren't two big upsets in the League Cup first round with Port Vale winning at Sheffield United and Rotherham beating Derby at the DV Stadium.
