Ex-Imps screwed over by Corby

Corby Town FC have screwed over several former Imps by releasing them from their contracts without any consent from the players themselves. Lawrie Dudfield and Ayden Duffy are the two former Imps affected, with Dudfield even going as far to take legal action against Corby.

Corby is effectively becoming the dumping ground for Lincoln City's ex-players. Even with Dudfield and Duffy now gone, the Northamptonshire side still contain ex-Imps Dean West, Phil Watt, Paul Mayo, Mark Stallard, Jason Lee and Leon "Better Facilities" Mettam.

The situation is quite unique as despite both Duffy and Dudfield agreeing long(ish) contracts, both have been released by Corby, however, Duffy is not allowed to officially register with Gainsborough Trinity as he is, according to the FA, still technically a Corby player.

Duffy left Sincil Bank in the summer via his own free will, admitting that he wanted to continue in education after studying ICT at Lincoln College at the same time as myself. He subsequently joined Corby before all this mess came about.

In theory, this whole situation now might mean that Duffy can't play another game of first-team football until his contract was due to expire at Corby, although the FA are investigating the matter.

How bizarre. How can this situation be allowed to happen?

I am sure FA will resolve, if he is contracted he should be paid so I am sure Corby will release his registration!!

Remember Stan Collymore left a spanish club halfway through his contract as he had "Retired" and then tried to sign somewhere else and was blocked. Even cash strapped Boston tried to sign him

Its so unfair on the players involved, they all have families to support. I hope it gets resolved quickly & Corby get punished.
