Connor of the marking in Goole mauling

Lincoln City left it until the last pre-season friendly to record their first victory before the season begins. Despite a poor start, City's first attack resulted in a goal as Oakes hit the net from the edge of the box. However, there was an interesting talking point in the second half.

Goole were the dominant side early on but the first attack from the Imps resulted in the game's opening goal as Oakes hit a curling shot into the net. Good work from Jamie Clarke a minute or two later gave Connor an easy chance to open his account before Kovacs made it 3-0 before the 25th minute when he volleyed in.

A fourth came from the penalty spot just before half time and Fagan finished his pre-season with another goal as he slotted it home.

However, the game's talking point came in the second half when Danny Hone accidentally kicked a Goole player on the higher leg area, it appeared he had been sent off as he trudged off of the pitch. However, ten minutes later and he re-appeared in what appeared to be a sin-bin style incident.
