Chris Fagan scored his first goal for Lincoln City at Boston United, but it was unfortunately another frustrating night as the Unibond Premier side equalised before the half time interval through Marc Newsham's penalty.
Fagan became the first player to score for the Imps this season as he unleashed a beautiful volley just two minutes into the game, although it was an easy chance as it was an open goal. City generally bossed the game after this but couldn't really produce another goal and Boston had a penalty when Cullingworth was brought down my Miller, Newsham slotting away the spot kick.
Oakes hit the post from 25 yards in the second half before trailists Connor and Gladwell both came close to giving their chances of a permanent deal no harm at all.
So not the best result but not the worst. It is a bit worrying that we haven't won during pre-season so far but how many times have we had really good pre-seasons and then flopped?
City's next friendly will see Sleaford Town come to Sincil Bank on Sunday afternoon.
have seen us lose to boston, grantham, gainsborough and lincoln utd in friendlies over years so wouldn't get too worry just yet.
One of the worst was at home Grantham just before 02/03 we lost 2 1 or 3 1 I think it was.
The Grantham captain at the time Brendan McDaid told me we would be relegated with standard of player we had signed... we got to the playoff final!
In particular he singled out Futcher claiming he was hopeless and not a league player at all... out top scorer that season!
3 weeks to go and plenty of work to by the sounds of it.. we will see.
