Lincoln City's seventeenth draw of the season may have been enough to deny their hosts a Playoff place. It was the fifth goalless draw that City have been involved in this season and continues our relatively decent end to the season in terms of goals conceded. Neither side really took a hold on the early stages of the game but it was the hosts who had the first chance, although Burch wasn't really tested by Holt's slow effort. Oakes sliced an effort wide for City before a twelfth minute corner was clear for City...told you it was slow. Murray was booked for a crunching foul on Kerr just after the quarter hour before a Chadwick header went wide.

Daniels was angered when Hutchinson rightly challenged for the ball outside of the area, with the Shrewsbury goalkeeper raising his hands against the youngster. N'Guessan shot over from 25 yards before Leslie blasted over from a free kick from 25 yards. However, the Shrews had the best opportunity of the game so far when Holt burst through on goal, only to be denied by Burch.

Horsfield missed from 6 yards in added on time but that was the last chance of the first half.

Davies volleyed over within a minute of the second half beginning but it was again a slow half with the next noteworthy incident coming when Nick Chadwick was replaced by Richard Walker, the man who single handedly destroyed Lincoln for Bristol Rovers in the 2006/7 Playoffs.

Hutchinson injured himself after challenging for the ball and was replaced by Adams. Horsfield had the half's best chance a few minutes later when he cut inside and saw his shot well saved by Daniels. He was subsequently replaced by Ben Wright. Wright was straight in the action as he headed a Kerr cross over just minutes before Davies again shot well over as Shrewsbury were struggling to gets shots on target.

Hibbert headed over from close range but Shrewsbury couldn't find a winner in five minutes of added on time, meaning they MUST win at Dagenham to go into the Playoff places.
