Carling Cup Draw details

Lincoln City will know their first fixture of the new season next week. The Carling Cup draw is being made earlier than the League fixtures and the Imps will hoping for their first trip to the second round since that immense night in Fulham...City have infact failed to get past their first game in any cup competition since then.

The draw for the Carling Cup will be made next Friday (13th) at 10am. It is likely to be seeded again. If that is the case then City will face a northern team that are in the Championship, one of the northern teams that were relegated to League One or the northern teams that finished in the top half of League One.

Based on that, the opponents will more than likely come from the below teams.

POSSIBLE OPPONENTS

Barnsley

Blackpool

Burnley

Carlisle United 

Derby County

Doncaster Rovers

Huddersfield Town

Leeds United

Nottingham Forest

Oldham Athletic

Preston North End

Scunthorpe United

Sheffield United

Sheffield Wednesday

Tranmere Rovers

A few more teams are likely to be added to that list due to there being far more southern teams in the Football League than northern teams.

Come on Carling Cup, make my Year 11 leaving day especially a happy one with Leeds or a Sheffield away, Would enjoy Notts' but there fans i feel jus wouldnt turn up, like last time sad smiley
