Scott Kerr has left his team-mates in no doubt as to his opinion on the recent 4-1 defeat at Chesterfield. It was yet another game in a long line of poor performances by the Imps. City may have won 7 of their last 10 games but good performances have been very few and far between and City are lucky not to still be involved in the relegation zone.

2007 has been a fairly decent year for the Imps so far, claiming 22 points from a possible 33. However, good performances have been very absent in that time and more often than not, we've been dominated in the games. The trip to Macclesfield on February 5th was a great example of this. The Silkmen dominated the game and yet the Imps went away from Moss Rose with the full 3 points.

The 4-1 defeat at Chesterfield has been coming for a while and most of the squad were left wanting as the Imps were well beaten by the Spirites. In my own personal opinion, the only players who came out of that game with any credit were Marriott (who couldn't do anything for the goals), Hone and Kerr. The rest were found wanting and Kerr certainly didn't hide his feelings.

"It was bitterly disappointing the way we lost the game, as I thought we started the game pretty well and we kept them out" said the midfielder. For some reason we then conceded a goal and went sloppy but I thought certain players did not turn up. They need to have a look at themselves. I am not going to name names but I think they know who they are," he told the Echo.

Kerr has impressed fans with his attitude in recent weeks that first started with him ranting at Dany N'Guessan after the Frenchman not only gave the ball away, but acted like he couldn't care less about it.

There are too many players in this current side that turn up but don't actually do a lot. Ben Wright and Louis Dodds are fine examples of this. For months these two have let the occasional goal every 6 or 7 games hide their otherwise less-than-impactful performances.
