Peter Jackson diagnosed with cancer

Peter Jackson, manager of Lincoln City, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer of the age of 46 following a visit to the hospital. Jackson has had throat problems since joining the Imps back at the end of October and thought it was to do with him stopping his smoking habit, only to find out that there were cancerous cells at the back of his throat.

Jackson is known as one of the more vocal managers in the Football League, not afraid to tell the officials what he thinks about their decisions. His first game in charge saw him object heavily to Trevor Kettle's bizarre decision to give Chester a penalty in their 1-0 win at Sincil Bank.

Since he came to Sincil Bank he has clearly had a sore throat and thought that reason was due to his quitting smoking before joining City. However, an appointment at the hospital has seen him diagnosed with throat cancer after cancerous cells were found in the back of his neck.

Jackson will be taking March off for treatment and Iffy Onuora will be taking control at Sincil Bank in that time.
