Chris Casper's post match reaction to his side's fortunate 1-1 draw at Sincil Bank yesterday will puzzle the vast majority in Sincil Bank after he claimed Bury were the only team in the game. He also claims that our goal came against the run of play and that he felt despite Bury's many many chances that they weren't going to score.......such a pity that about 3300odd were watching the actual game.

Casper said : "Lincoln's goal was a bit of a sucker punch, we didn't deserve that and to be fair it looked like there was only one team in it. We needed to score and Andy Bishop's performance was excellent. After we hit the post you start to think that it's not going to be our day, plus there were one or two penalty decisions that haven't gone our way and when you're in the spell we've been in, you don't get those decisions."

Casper needs a reality check if he thinks our goal was against the run of play. City hit the woodwork twice, had several decent chances that went narrowly wide or over the target and quite frankly must have spent about 90% of the game in Bury's half......yet Bury produce two attacks and Casper thinks they deserved to win.

It's yet another person who seems to think that their side deserved to beat City when the Imps dominated the game. Notts County, Stockport and Grimsby are all sides recently who got it into their heads that they somehow deserved to beat us, yet none have actually outplayed us.

City haven't managed to beat Bury since Chris Casper took over but have outplayed them in 4 of the 5 meetings, each time Casper then claiming they deserved to win. The most outrageous example of this came in the 05/06 season when City took the lead before half time at Gigg Lane, had two goals disallowed, hit the woodwork several times and were unlucky not to score 5 or 6, then Bury scored with their only chance of the game and yet the deluded Casper seemed to think they deserved all 3 points from that game.

Just so Mr Casper can being his journey into reality. City's suckerpunch goal came as one of 14 chances on goal, considerably more than Bury. Percentage of possession was 57% to Lincoln....so I would absolutely love to know which game Chris Casper was watching if he thinks that his side deserved to win.

Thankfully Bury haven't won in 7 games now and the Bury board are growing impatient, meaning Mr Casper could soon find himself out of a job. He will no doubt claim he didn't deserve the sack despite Bury struggling against relegation in the previous 2 seasons and slowly slipping into trouble this season.
