Bohemians manager Sean Connor has ruled himself out of the running for the managers seat at Sincil Bank, something that is expected to be met with an ambivalent reaction with Imps fans. Rumours were coming out of Ireland that City had made an official approach for Conner regarding taking over the hotseat at Sincil Bank, an odd claim considering it came BEFORE the Johns had gone.

You can count on one hand the amount of people in Lincoln who had heard of Sean Connor before this recent speculation. The former Port Vale and Macclesfield player was claimed to be one of the first choices of the City board, but even Connor himself doesn't know where the rumour came from. Speaking to the local newspaper he denied earlier reports (by the same newspaper) that he had been approached. 

"I don't think Lincoln is the club for me. While it is flattering to be linked to a position like that,I feel I have plenty to achieve in Ireland. Things are going well at Bohs. No one has approached me from Lincoln. I'm aware of the speculation but I won't be leaving Bohs."

Bohemians are currently 5th in the top league in Ireland. Having seen several games from that division whilst over in Ireland a few years back, the quality strikes me as being the same quality as the lower reaches of League One. Some other football fans that I know have seen games over there, some even comparing it to the Blue Square Premier Division in terms of quality. So the lack of approach from City is hardly going to cause an outcry of rage from the Imps fans.

Meanwhile, Peter Jackson has also confirmed he would be interested in the manager's seat, arguably the biggest name to confirm that he is interested so far.
