City head to Shrewsbury as Rovers go up

Lincoln City will travel to Shrewsbury Town's New Meadow next season after the Shrews dominated the playoff final before losing to Bristol Rovers. Just like the Imps' defeat to Southend a few years ago, Shrewsbury dominated the final but succombed to the only shots on target that their opponents had. It not means that City's longest trip next year will just be 3 hours away.

Shrewsbury dominated the early stages, scoring in the first two minutes when a free kick was converted in. They went on to continue dominating and were unlucky not to be 3 or 4 goals up before Bristol Rovers scored heavily against the run of play when Walker scored their first shot of the game. Shrewsbury continued to control the game but Bristol Rovers then took a highly undeserved equaliser and went into half time with a 2-1 lead. The only thing less frequent than a Bristol Rovers shot on target was the Sky Sports commentators not comparing them to Brazil (that's not being sarcastic, they actually did do that at several points).

The second half was much the same, but Bristol Rovers recent luck continued as Shrewsbury's goalkeeper came up for a 92nd minute corner, leaving the goal unguarded for Igoe to slot home.

City's longest trip is now down to just 3 hours worth of travel, with the vast majority of games being just two hours away.
