Colin Cryan has left Lincoln City and has joined local rivals Boston United. It comes as no surprise after limited chances. Cryan, who is naturally a right back, is now behind Beevers and Eaden in the pecking order, and with just 6 appearances to his name this season, he has left.

Cryan is one of a number of players at Sincil Bank that had their contracts expiring in the summer to leave Sincil Bank via one method or another. Gary Birch, Luke Foster and Danny Bacon have all left Sincil Bank on a permanent basis in recent weeks, whilst Martin Gritton has been helping save Mansfield from relegation, mainly with a hat-trick in their 5-0 win against Torquay the other night.

Cryan was one of a bucket full of players who joined Sincil Bank in the summer of 2005, along with fellow Scarborough team-mate, Scott Kerr. However, Cryan almost didn't join City as Malcolm Reynolds, the chairman at Scarborough, claimed that because Cryan was under 24 at the time, Scarborough were due compensation due to the Bosman ruling. However, one think Mr Reynolds neglected to remember was that for that to be the case, Scarborough had to offer Cryan a contract by a certain date, they didn't and City got their man.

He became a regular in the first team at Sincil Bank but very rarely set the world alight. This season has seen Schofield and Deehan prefer Lee Beevers at right back, and Nicky Eaden when he has been on loan.

Cryan will play his first game for Boston this weekend.
