Lincoln City have taken Adnan Ahmed on trial from Huddersfield Town as City aim for their first buy of the transfer window. The youngster is a product of one of the most successful youth set-ups in the country, but he has rarely featured this year because of injury and suspension.

With the Imps tracking 4 players, including Ahmed and Glasgow Rangers youngster, Dany N'Guessan, it finally appears that the Imps might make a signing for first time in the new transfer window. City have so far been frustrated in their attempts to bring players into Sincil Bank, seeing several targets move to other clubs instead.

Ahmed is part of a number of players who have progressed through the youth academy at the Galpharm in recent years with first teamers Jonathan Worthington, Danny Schofield, David Mirfin, and Ahmed of course, turning Huddersfield into one of the best clubs outside of the top 2 divisions, despite their relatively low position in the League One table.

When asked about the Ahmed situation, the Huddersfield manager (Peter Jackson) revealed that the arrangement was good for all parties.

"Lincoln showed an interest in Adnan so we though it would be good for him to go there for a time. He can not play a first team game due to suspension, bt may feature behind closed doors. It will be a good experience for him and will hopefully make him appreciate what he has got here. It does not mean he is leaving."
