Lincoln City are hoping to cement top spot but to do it, the Imps must come out of very difficult game at Edgeley Park. This fixture last season was one of the most entertaining of the year but City fans would settle for a boring game if we can stay top because of it.

There are just moments in life that you remember forever. Whilst there are still many months of the season to go, to top the table, especially when the so called "experts" predict you to finish in 22nd position is almost as satisfying as making it to the playoff final in 2002/3 when we were relegation favourites.....almost. The recent few weeks of watching Lincoln have been absolutely fantastic and almost topping the table isn't particulary important, it proves we are one of, if not the best team in this division.

However, it's one thing getting there but it's another thing stay there, especially when the team in 2nd are level on points and goal different but face a team at the bottom of the League at home. City could win and still move down a place if Walsall get the expected dominant win at home to Macclesfield so it's up to City to match the scoreline but it will be far from easy against ever-improving Stockport.

Lincoln could however be the latest to suffer the "curse" of Manager the Month as several runs are due to come to an end soon, City have won the last 4, not drawn since August 19th, scoring goals for fun and only 1 goal conceded in the last 4, seemingly has a sense of inevitability doesn't it.

There isn't expected to be any chances with the starting 11 as everyone is fit and raring to go. Arguably the player who will be most looking forward to Saturday's game is Lee Frecklington who scored his first ever goal for the Imps at Edgeley Park last season

Stockport have definately turned their season around after starting with a familiar run wich saw them lose 5 of their first 8 league games, however, since then we've won 5 of their last league 8 games, now that's consistency. It's the kind of form that saw many people, including myself, predict them to finish in a creditable mid-table position.

Stockport have several talented players including ex-Cambridge goalkeeper, John Ruddy on loan, not to forget Sheffield Wednesday's former striker Adam Proudlock but their most dangerous player has to be Adam Le Fondre. He scored an impressive hat-trick against Wrexham and has so far scored 6 in his 11 games this season.
