City almost guaranteed local derby in draw

Lincoln City are almost guaranteed a local derby in the Johnson's Paints Trophy after being drawn in the North East section. The only team that City wouldn't really consider to be a local(ish) game is a game against Hartlepool United who are the most northern team in the Imp's group.

After falling at the first hurdle last season, City go into Saturday's draw knowing that they can only face one of a handful of teams in hopes of progressing. City were drawn in the Northern Eastern section along with Bradford, Doncaster, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Huddersfield, Rotherham and Scunny. Teams that were given byes to the second round from the north are Blackpool, Chester, Chesterfield, Crewe, Darlo, Mansfield, Oldham and Port Vale.

The draw takes place on Saturday morning on Sky Sport's Soccer AM show.
