Leigh make their first trip to Moor Green since the two sides faced each other in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup in the 2002/2003 season. The aforementioned tie was the only previous encounter between the sides, with Moor Green produce a bit of a giantkilling act, defeating an RMI side plying their trade in the Nationwide Conference, one level higher than Moor Green on the football pyramid at that time, with the cup run of the victors being ended in the next round when they lost at Barrow, ironically another side that is in the Conference North this season.

A lot of water, not to mention a string of RMI managers, have passed under the bridge since then, and the two sides now find themselves in the lower reaches of the Conference North, each of them locked on twelve points each after disappointing starts to the season.

Last weekend saw Moor Green come from 3-1 down in the second half to grab a 3-3 draw away at Lancaster, while RMI succumbed to a 3-1 home defeat to high-flying Stafford Rangers.

RMI boss Andy Nelson again has no particular injury worries to deal with, although he must surely be getting a little concerned about his side's rapidly diminishing confidence, especially in defence, as results continue to go against his side, though it's only a matter of time before his young charges turn it around.
