Leigh Genesis Football Club is delighted to announce the re-launch of its senior team for the forthcoming season commencing in August 2012.

A management team lead by Liam Peers will be commencing training on grass on Tuesday 29 May in preparation for their introduction into the South Lancs Counties Football League. Any interested player should contact Liam on 07970 368120.

Games will be played on Sunday mornings in the main but with some afternoon kick offs.

It is envisaged that many players from this seasons Leigh Genesis’ under 20, under 18 team and football scholarship will form the basis of the players in the new squad together with the recruitment of some additional players. Should there be enough players committed to open age football the club would also support the introduction of a reserve team which would also play in the South Lancs League.

Club Secretary Rob Atherton was clearly delighted. “After the very sad loss of the First Team last season we have taken stock and concluded that the time and circumstances are right for a re-launch of the 1st X1. The standard of the South Lancs League is appropriate to the players we have and wish to recruit together with our expected home ground location. Liam has gathered a sound team to support him and everyone is really excited about the future.”
