Mark Beesley

Leigh RMI boss Phil Starbuck has missed out on the signing of his reported target Mark Beesley after the former Chester City striker opted to sign for high-flying Hereford United ahead of RMI and fellow strugglers Northwich Victoria. The 22 year old striker, who has scored 32 goals in 79 starts for Chester in the Conference, has fallen out of favour at the Deva Stadium this season and was reportedly a target for RMI, with the Railwaymen desperate for striking back-up with Leigh boss Phil Starbuck all to aware that his side are relying too much upon the goalscoring of star striker David McNiven.

The loan deal for Ian Fitzpatrick runs out in the next couple of weeks so RMI are on the look out for another striker to take the pressure off McNiven's shoulders.
