Dino Maamria's transfer saga involving a transfer to Stevenage has finally ended with the former Tunisian Under 21 international making a U-turn on his decision to initially stay at Hilton Park. Former Doncaster Rovers and Southport striker Maamria has been subject to much transfer speculation over the past few weeks but looked set to be staying at Hilton Park until the end of the season after rejecting an approach from Stevenage earlier this week.

Maamria is due to leave for a new life in America at the end of the season and it looked as though he would be staying with Leigh RMI until then. However, new Stevenage manager Graeme Westley came back with an improved offer which Maamria just couldn't refuse. Maamria has signed on at Broadhall Way until the end of the season.

RMI manager Mark Patterson has quickly moved to fill the vacancy left by Maamria's departure by making two signings from Conference rivals Scarborough. Boro striker Neil Campbell has signed on loan until the end of the season and his team mate, Seadogs striker Keith Scott, has signed a permanent deal at Hilton Park. Maamria's departure has again prompted speculation that former Wigan Athletic and Grimsby Town striker Lee Ashcroft will be heading to Leigh.
