Leigh RMI came into this match full of confidence after three wins in a row, conceding no goals. Despite this Margate ease to victory putting more pressure on Leigh and their relegation battle.

The home side started the match alot better than RMI, and took the lead after only 5 minutes when Phil Collins struck an 18 yard screamer. The goal came around when Dino Maamria conceded a free kick, which was swung in and cleared straight to Collins, who made no mistake.

Wayne Mayden had a chance to equalise after 21 minutes when his header went just past the post.

Stuart Coburn made a good save when Margate striker Leon Braithwaite struck a well timed effort.

Four minutes into the second half and RMI had their best chance and it fell to Maamria. But a good save from keeper Phillip Smith denied Maamria's close range header.
