After being disappointed to lose 2-1 at home to Curzon Ashton after being 1-0 up at half-time in their first league outing of the season, Leigh Genesis have an immediate chance to bounce back when they travel over the Pennines tomorrow night to take on Wakefield.
Both sides made a flying start to the Evo-Stik League Division One North season on Saturday by going 1-0 in front, only for both to lose 2-1, with two second half goals seeing Genesis fall to defeat at home to Curzon Ashton after Scott Sephton's opener, while Wakefield lost 2-1 on the road to Skelmersdale United.
The two sides last met at College Grove in a thrilling encounter in February when Leigh were losing 2-0 with eight minutes remaining, only for goals from Matt Jansen after eighty two minutes and a stoppage time equaliser from current Leigh player/coach Andy Heald to clinch an unlikely point for Genesis.
The ground is situated close to the centre of Wakefield on the same site as Wakefield hockey club, at the former home of the now-defunct Wakefield RUFC. Leave the M1 at junction 41 and take the A650 towards Wakefield, taking a slight left on to Leeds Road (A61) then turning left at Westfield Road before turning left on to College Grove Road, where street parking is available close to the ground.
Kick off is at 7.45pm on Tuesday evening, with admission costing £7.50 adults, £5 for over 65's, £3 for students and £1 for under 16's. This admission price also includes a programme for adults and concessions.
